WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

As we all enjoy the great outdoors, it’s important that we respect the wildlife and nature. Fortunately, there are laws in place to help protect the environment and species, but it is up to us to follow these laws and spread the need for wildlife conservation. Mahi Run is a big proponent of wildlife conservation. Here are some important websites:

Trash and Pollutants

Trash and Pollutants are some of the biggest problems for our lands and oceans. It is for this reason that Mahi Run is a fan of 4Ocean.  As their Mission Statement says: 4ocean is an ocean cleanup company dedicated to ending the ocean plastic crisis. As a Public Benefit Corporation and Certified B Corp, we harness the power of business to fund a global cleanup operation that’s responsible for recovering millions of pounds of plastic and trash from the world’s oceans, rivers, and coastlines.  To learn more about 4Ocean, you can visit their website at: https://www.4ocean.com/ .

Licenses and Permits

Every state requires a license for Freshwater and Saltwater fishing.  Many states use a portion of this money to invest back into conservation, cleanups and more.  Failure to obtain licenses and permits and lead to fines.  Mahi Run encourages everyone to obtain a fishing license.  You can do a Google search for “Fishing License” and find out how to purchase a fishing license in your state.

catch and release

Laws exist to protect species of fish.  For example, some fish have to over or under a certain size in order to keep.  There are also laws on how many fish you can keep in many states.  Be sure to purchase a size and catch limit handbook for your state or do a google search on the type of fish you would like to keep.  These handbooks often come with the purchase of your fishing license.  Let’s all go fishing and enjoy the experiences while being part of the solution!
